Every Day Lunches

I like food. Good food. Whole food. Identifiable food. Local food. Food I make. Food I share. Food.

I like to take pictures of this food, the daily food I buy, make, and eat.

This blog is dedicated to food and lunches. Eat well!

Lunch, August 31st

Today's lunch are two Tombstone Deep Dish mini pizzas. I know, total GARBAGE, but I'm trying to empty out the freezer because I have to pick up a quarter hog (pork) on the 7th and I need all the freezer space I can get. Now that I have a smaller freezer, I'm glad I went with the 1/4 instead of the 1/2!

Lunch, August 30th

Today's lunch is a repeat of yesterday, only I'm eating it at work. Tomato whatchamacallit (variety of tomatoes, pine nuts, basil, mozzarella, thyme, oregano, olive oil, S&P. And a pinch of yummyness. And ciabatta bread with butter and garlic, only not toasted as long.

Lunch, August 29th

Today's lunch is late cuz we had a late breakfast after this morning's bike ride. This is a repeat of an earlier dish, but this time it is truly dynamic and delicious: yellow, red, and orange grape tomatoes, and regular tomato sliced up, with pine nuts, cubes of mozzarella cheese, sliced roasted red pepper (that I roasted last night), fresh basil, dried thyme and oregano, multi-colored fresh ground pepper, sea salt, and ev olive oil. It knocks my first version right out of the ballpark. Then I made two slices of buttered ciabatta garlic toast. My mouth is happy :)

Lunches, August 26th & 27th

Today's lunch is a two-for-one because I was busy helping an international student get setup with banking, an apartment, registration, etc. yesterday, and only had 15 minutes to eat. First in line is the remaining pizza pasta from the 26th. Glad I remembered to take a picture before I finished it!!! Second in line is today's lunch: whole grain bread from Shadeau with spicy seitan (fake meat), yellow bell pepper, yellow onion, tomato, roasted red pepper, and dijon mustard. And that is a glass of half & half. Fresh!

Lunch, August 20th

Today's lunch is bizarre, or rather a humdinger. I have fresh chopped cucumber, red onion, tomato (from my father's garden), red bell pepper (from my garden), jalapeno, and fresh mozzarella, with a dressing of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, oregano, thyme, rosemary, marjoram, topped with fresh basil. I also have leftover brown rice with a green curry sauce and chicken, along with a warmed socca (garbanzo bean pancake).

Lunch, August 19th

Today's lunch is leftover baba ganoush from Green Dog with some toasted poppy seed bread (or what can be called "colon tsunami"). Yeah for fiber. Looks like shit, but is very spicy and tasty. Not sure what's in it, but I can see red onion, red pepper, and some seeds, plus some oil (probably olive). Tastes great! I think I'll have an apple for a snack later.

Lunch, August 15-18

I just can't keep up on pictures.

Lunch on the 15th was corn on the cob, salsa & chips, fried chicken, and baked beans. All loaded with sugar.

Lunch on the 16th was something that I can't recall.

Lunch on the 17th was hunan veggies with brown rice from Mark Pi's (see previous post).

Lunch on the 18th was the leftovers from the 17th. Still good!

Sometimes when you're hungry, you just eat and forget your responsibility to your blog followers. My bad.

Today's lunch is (was) white pizza from Pizza Works: garlic and oil, topped with mozzarella, banana pepper rings, and bacon, some sort of herb too like oregano. My personal favorite!

Today's lunch is leftover sausage stuffing (bread, celery, onion, garlic, salt/pepper) and turkey breast that has been breaded and deep fried. There was more, but I ate half of it before remembering to take a picture!

OOPS! Missed some lunches

I moved over the weekend, and forgot to take pictures of my lunches. But imagine, if you will, these descriptions:

Friday, July 30th - a 6 inch BLT sub with all the veggies from Subway with a bag of Lays potato chips.

Saturday, July 31st - two cheese coney hot dogs from Gold Star Chili, with mustard, onion, and cheese on a cheap, really cheap, white bun. Coney crap-o-licious. Wait, did I mention that mass produced beef is washed in ammonia because the processing is so grotesque and the animals arrive sick? Is "ammonialicious" a word?

Sunday, August 1st - FINALLY, some good food! A breakfast burrito from Green Dog Cafe that had FRESH veggies including scramble eggs, potatoes, jalapeno's, tomatoes, black beans, onions, chevre (fancy cheese name), and something else, then grilled in a wheat wrap.
