Every Day Lunches

I like food. Good food. Whole food. Identifiable food. Local food. Food I make. Food I share. Food.

I like to take pictures of this food, the daily food I buy, make, and eat.

This blog is dedicated to food and lunches. Eat well!

Lunch, September 30th

Today's lunch is fun! A leftover grilled hamburger with melted cheddar on 9-grain bread, and some dijon mustard, Cape Cod brand sea salt and vinegar potato chips, a lovely peach, and some skim milk.

Lunch, September 29th

Today's lunch is baked delicata squash with salt, butter, honey, and cashews. Jar of skim milk. I clearly overbaked the squash last night so it just didn't taste that good today and I didn't finish it. I'm guilty of wasting food today. And I couldn't eat the entire chickpea quesadilla yesterday, so I'm doubly bad now.

Lunch, September 28th

Today's lunch is a chickpea quesadilla that has a chickpea mix with roasted peppers and onions, and maybe some other stuff, and then cheddar and mozzarella cheese baked in the tortilla. It's pretty good. Sour Cream and Salsa on the side.

Lunch, September 24th

Today's lunch is the Central Park sub from Wall Street. It is turkey, provolone, onion, green pepper, tomato, bean sprouts, honey mustard sauce, and cucumber on wheat bread. I added salt, pepper, and hot sauce. The pickle spear is not in the picture, nor is my smiling face.

Lunch, September 23rd

Today's lunch is leftover Mark Pi's: brown rice, breaded/fried chicken, and some veggies. Lemon is for the afternoon lemon water.

Lunch, September 21st

Today's lunch is homemade salsa, what I'm sure is GMO Frito Lay corn chips, and some cheese made from cows that are likely treated badly. Top that off with some of THE BEST milk from Snowville Creamery in Ohio, and it's called lunch.

The salsa is made from all local ingredients: red onion, roma tomatoes, red pepper, oregano, and jalapeno peppers (these are home grown), cilantro, purple tomatillos, dried marjoram, sea salt, ground pepper, 1 habanero, and 1 small chipotle.

Guest Lunch

No picture today, so I've informally invited a guest luncher. Check out this blog about the Naked Lunch in San Francisco.

Lunch, September 15

Today's lunch is leftover pizza I made at home last night. Whole grain crust that is like soggy cardboard, with homemade pizza sauce, chopped roma tomatoes, mushrooms, sopressata, and mozzarella.

Lunch, September 14th

Today's lunch is leftover grilled shrimp and veggies that was in a fajita from El Rancho Grande, and some blue organic corn chips, and then I'll finish the chocolate zucchini cake later. Still drinking my morning coffee too.

Missed lunches

I missed the last several lunches due to an alien abduction. I just couldn't get pictures of my food due to extensive "testing" and "manipulation" - although I don't recall a bit of it :-|

Lunch, September 8th

Today's lunch is made up of odds and ends. Generic Triscuits topped with smoked cheddar cheese, fake Italian meat by Field Roast, home-roasted red peppers, and a dab of yellow mustard. Makes me want a corndog.

Lunch, September 7th

Today's lunch is a two part series. First I am going to eat some left over sausage stuffing that was in the freezer, likely what I'll be eating tomorrow too. Second, and a little later, I am going to eat some real yogurt that doesn't have filler crap in it with some fresh sliced cherries that are at the bottom and the honey that's drizzled on top.

Lunch, Labor Day

Things have been nuts at work and home and I keep forgetting to take a picture of my lunch. Couldn't tell you what I've had since Thursday, but here is some random food from today - pork ribs and shitty Ore Ida onion rings that I was trying to get rid of (J bought them, go figure!). One bite of the rings and I wanted to puke. Didn't though. And didn't finish them either. Total garbage; I can't believe they call that food. J made the spicy sauce with mustard, horseradish, wasabi, and hot sauce. Pretty tasty.

Lunch, September 1st

Today's lunch is a marinated chicken breast topped with pico de gallo and melted cheese, with some what I'm sure are GMO corn chips from Snyder's of Hanover.
